The Mido Ocean Star GMT (reference M026.829.18.041.00) is a versatile diver’s watch that combines functionality and elegant design for the modern traveler.

Housing and design

The robust stainless steel case measures 40.5 mm in diameter and 13.4 mm in height, giving the watch a striking presence on the wrist. The unidirectional rotating bezel is equipped with a blue aluminum inlay, which is not only scratch-resistant, but also colorfast. The deep blue dial with applied indexes and luminous hands ensures excellent readability in all lighting conditions. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the dial from scratches and reflections. The screw-down caseback is engraved with the Ocean Star logo, which underlines the maritime character of this watch.

Movement and technology

Inside the Ocean Star GMT is the Mido Calibre 80, an automatic movement with an impressive power reserve of up to 80 hours. This movement is based on the ETA C07.661 and features a Nivachron™ hairspring that provides increased resistance to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations, increasing the precision and longevity of the watch. The GMT function makes it possible to display the time in two different time zones at the same time – ideal for frequent travelers. The date display is located at 3 o’clock and blends harmoniously with the dial design.

Bracelet and wearing comfort

The watch comes with a stainless steel bracelet that offers both elegance and comfort. In addition, another bracelet is included in the set: a navy blue NATO textile strap with a grey stripe in the middle. Both straps are equipped with a quick-change system, so that an uncomplicated change is possible depending on the occasion or preference. The safety folding clasp with logo ensures a secure fit on the wrist.

Functionality

The Mido Ocean Star GMT is water-resistant up to a pressure of 20 bar (200 meters) and is therefore ideally suited for diving and water sports. The GMT function makes it possible to read the home time and the local time at the same time, which is especially advantageous for travelers. The screw-down crown and solid caseback provide additional safety underwater. The Super-LumiNova-coated® hands and indexes ensure excellent readability even in low light conditions.
