Housing and design
The 40 mm Oyster case in 18-carat white gold lends the watch a timeless elegance and robustness. The fixed bezel with engraved tachymeter scale underlines the sporty character of the Daytona and allows average speeds to be measured. The dial is available in different versions, including blue, black and silver, each with applied indices and luminous hands for optimum legibility. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal reliably protects the dial.
Movement and technology
Inside the Ref. 116509 is the Rolex Manufacture Caliber 4130, an automatic chronograph movement renowned for its reliability and precision. This movement has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and is characterized by a reduced number of components, which increases reliability. The vertical clutch of the chronograph mechanism ensures precise starting and stopping of the stop function.
Bracelet and wearing comfort
The watch is fitted with the classic Oyster bracelet made from 18-carat white gold, which offers both robustness and a high level of comfort thanks to its three-row structure. The Oysterlock folding clasp ensures a secure fit and prevents unintentional opening. The finely tuned ergonomics of the bracelet make it comfortable to wear, even for long periods.
Functionality
In addition to the central hour and minute display, the Daytona Ref. 116509 offers a small second at 6 o’clock as well as chronograph functions with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock. The screw-down Triplock winding crown and pushers guarantee water resistance to 100 meters, making the watch ideal for everyday use and sporting activities.
