Housing and design

The 103 St DIAPAL is presented in a robust yet elegant stainless steel case with a diameter of 41 mm and a height of approx. 17 mm – a balanced size for comfort and presence in equal measure. The design picks up on the clean lines of a cockpit instrument: the anthracite galvanized dial provides subtle depth, while the Arabic numerals and luminous hands provide excellent readability – during the day as well as in the dark. The sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and the transparent case back provide an insight into the technology and underline the high-quality claim. In addition, a captive pilot’s bezel with minute detent ensures functional aesthetics – a typical feature of the classic pilot’s chronographs from Sinn.

Wristband and comfort

The watch is usually delivered with a solid stainless steel bracelet that combines polished and satin-finished elements, thus combining style and suitability for everyday use. With a lug width of 20 mm, the bracelet blends harmoniously into the case and offers a secure and comfortable fit on the wrist. Thanks to the high-quality workmanship and the well thought-out wearing comfort – despite the robust technology – this timepiece is suitable for both daily use and special moments.

Functionality

Inside, a precise automatic movement (caliber LJP 8000 or based on the ETA 7754) operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour – with stop-seconds and display of a second time zone on a 12-hour basis. The equipment also includes: date display, chronograph function and a real aviator bezel for minute display. Particularly noteworthy in terms of technology are the in-house DIAPAL technology (lubricant-free escapement) and the Ar dehumidification technology – they enable long-lasting precision and reduced susceptibility to fogging even at extreme temperatures from -45 °C to +80 °C. Waterproof and pressure-resistant up to 20 bar (≈200 m) as well as vacuum-proof in accordance with DIN – this guarantees functional resilience.
