Description
Housing and design
The 1739 Römerberg is an elegant special edition, limited to only 100 pieces. The polished stainless steel case measures 39 mm in diameter and has a height of around 9.1 mm – ideally proportioned for classic style. The dial in selected crimson red with sunburst finish is reminiscent of the red Main sandstone of the historic façade of the “Haus zum Goldenen Rad” on Frankfurt’s Rathausplatz – a subtle reference to the origin of this model. The hand-applied appliqués and gold-plated hands set elegant accents, while the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and the transparent back reveal high-quality workmanship.
Wristband and comfort
The lug width of 20 mm ensures harmonious proportions and a comfortable fit. The edition includes both a burgundy Alcantara strap and a black calfskin strap – making this watch not only a variety of styles, but also convenient when changing straps. With a weight of only about 52 g without strap, the model is surprisingly easy to wear on the wrist.
Functionality
The timepiece is powered by the automatic movement calibre SW300-1 with 25 rubies and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour – reliable technology in an elegant guise. The clock shows the hours and minutes in a clearly structured way – reduced to the essentials. In addition, it meets technical requirements such as water and pressure resistance up to 10 bar as well as vacuum resistance according to DIN 8310. A fine rotor engraved with the silhouette of the Frankfurt Roman in the transparent back rounds off the noble overall picture.
