Housing and design
The 356 FLIEGER impresses with classic pilot’s watch aesthetics: The case made of bead-blasted stainless steel measures approx. 38.5 mm in diameter and a height of about 15.5 mm. The matt black dial with the distinctive “FLIEGER” print focuses on clarity and legibility – Arabic numerals and large hands with special luminous paint dominate the design. A screw-down caseback, screw-down crown and the robustly manufactured acrylic glass (optionally sapphire crystal in some variants) underline the technical integrity.
Wristband and comfort
With a lug width of 20 mm, the watch sits evenly on the wrist. Despite its mechanical features, the 356 FLIEGER weighs only about 71 g without strap – a value that promises excellent wearing comfort. Whether on a classic leather strap or optionally with a stainless steel bracelet – the model combines functionality with suitability for everyday use.
Functionality
Inside is an automatic chronograph movement (caliber SW 500 or SW 500-1) with 25 ruby bearings and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, chronograph, date and day of the week. The watch meets the technical standard DIN 8310 with regard to water resistance up to 10 bar and vacuum resistance as well as antimagnetism according to DIN 8309.
