Housing and design

The case and crown of the U50 are made of high-strength, seawater-resistant German submarine steel, which is known for its exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. With a diameter of 41 mm and a height of 11.15 mm, the watch offers a comfortable size for a wide range of wrists. The matte black dial with clear, luminous indices and hands ensures optimal readability in all lighting conditions. The captive diver’s bezel with minute detent is surface-hardened with TEGIMENT technology, which makes it particularly scratch-resistant. A sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the dial from external influences.

Movement and technology

Inside the U50 is the mechanical lever mechanism SW300-1 with automatic winding, equipped with 25 ruby jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The watch has a date display and a central seconds with stop-seconds function. It is anti-magnetic according to DIN 8309 and meets the technical requirements of DIN 8310 for waterproofness. The compressive strength is certified up to a diving depth of 500 meters (50 bar), which ensures its reliability in extreme conditions.

Bracelet and wearing comfort

The U50 comes standard with a two-link, bead-blasted stainless steel bracelet, which is equipped with a folding clasp and offers high wearing comfort. Alternatively, silicone straps are also available in different colors with case integration and deployment clasp. With a lug width of 20 mm and a weight of 74 grams without the strap, the watch is comfortable and balanced on the wrist.

Functionality

The U50 offers functions such as hour, minute and second display as well as a date function. The captive diver bezel with minute detent and photoluminescent main marker enables precise dive time measurements. The screw-down crown at 4 o’clock prevents it from pressing into the back of the hand and increases wearing comfort. The watch is resistant to negative pressure and has been tested and certified in accordance with the European diving equipment standards EN250 and EN14143, which underlines its suitability for professional diving operations.
