Description

The Sinn 156.1 E, reference 156.031, is a pilot’s chronograph limited to 300 pieces that combines tradition and modernity in a timeless design.

Housing and design

The bead-blasted stainless steel case with a diameter of 43 mm and a height of 15.45 mm gives the watch a striking presence. The matt black dial with ivory-coloured luminescent coating on the numerals as well as hour and minute hands ensures optimum legibility, supported by the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The captive stainless steel pilot’s bezel with anthracite-coloured hard coating on a tegimented background and luminescent fixed point at twelve o’clock underlines the instrumental character of the watch.

Movement and technology

Inside the 156.1 E is the mechanical lever mechanism SINN SZ01 with automatic winding, 28 ruby jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. This movement has a 60-minute stop indicator from the center, which allows for quick and precise recording of stop times. In addition, the watch is non-magnetic according to DIN 8309, water-resistant and pressure-resistant up to 10 bar as well as vacuum proof, which ensures its reliability in various areas of application.

Bracelet and wearing comfort

The Sinn 156.1 E comes with a bead-blasted stainless steel bracelet as well as an additional black vintage-look cowhide strap, both equipped with a pin buckle. With a lug width of 22 mm and a weight of 98 grams without the strap, the watch is comfortable on the wrist and offers a high level of comfort for everyday use.

Functionality

As a pilot’s chronograph, the 156.1 E offers functions such as hour, minute and small seconds, a chronograph function with a 60-minute stop display from the centre and a date display that is reminiscent of the Kollsman window of a barometric aviation altimeter. The gliding rotating pilot bezel with minute scale and luminescent fixed point enables precise time measurements. The screw-down crown and the screw-down caseback ensure a high level of operating safety and robustness.
