Housing and design
The sporty chronograph 144 St DIAPAL impresses with a robust stainless steel case with a diameter of 41 mm, which is bead-blasted. The overall height of about 14–14.5 mm underlines its functional character. The dial is anthracite-galvanized with Arabic numerals and indexes, all covered with luminous paint. Special feature: The integrated, bidirectionally rotatable inner ring with tachymeter and pulsometer scale gives the timepiece a technical instrument flair.
Wristband and comfort
With a lug width of 20 mm, the bracelet fits proportionally to the case and ensures comfortable wearing. Despite its mechanics and technology, the wearing comfort in everyday life remains high thanks to its well thought-out design – the case weight without strap is approx. 90 g. Whether with a solid metal bracelet or selected leather/textile variants – this timepiece offers style and everyday practicality at the same time.
Functionality
Ticking inside is the automatic armature movement calibre LJP 8000 (or based on Valjoux 7750) with 28,800 vibrations per hour, display of a second time zone on a 12-hour basis, date display and chronograph function. Technically noteworthy: the company’s own DIAPAL technology (lubricant-free escapement) and the Ar dehumidification technology, which ensures functional and fogging reliability even at extreme temperatures from -45 °C to +80 °C. Pressure- and vacuum-resistant up to 20 bar, anti-magnetic according to DIN 8309 – a real all-rounder for demanding applications.
