Davosa

Davosa watches: Precision and elegance

A passion for beautiful watches: As a Swiss maison with roots in the 19th century, Davosa stands for precise and detailed timepieces that are manufactured with a great deal of expertise and high quality standards. It is not for nothing that the brand bears the “Swiss Made” seal, which guarantees high-quality components and strict quality controls. Because a Davosa watch is worth preserving for the next generation. A characteristic feature of every timepiece from the Swiss Maison is the compass rose, which can be found not only on the dial of many models, but also in other details such as the shape of the hands, for example on the Ternos Professional 68h. Another reason why Davosa scores points with many buyers is the excellent price-performance ratio. Despite the manufacturer’s steadily increasing success and great popularity, the men’s and women’s watches always remain affordable. Would you like to find out more about Davosa watches? Davosa - a brand with high quality standards

Davosa has long since established itself as an exclusive watch brand from Switzerland and has enjoyed great international success with collections such as the Pilot, the Diver and the Ternos. In addition to mechanical watches, the Maison’s range also includes QUARTZ watches, all of which are meticulously handcrafted in Tramelan. Many of the limited editions launched, such as the Davosa Centum, are also coveted collector’s items which, thanks to their high quality standards, last for generations and lose none of their beauty even after many years. However, newer collections are also in demand, as the manufacturer is characterized by a keen sense of current trends and developments. And the Maison also knows how to inspire when it comes to materials. In addition to materials such as stainless steel, there are also wristwatches made of gold, titanium and ceramic. On request, the watches also have a chronograph function or a moon phase and month display. Even fans of exclusive pocket watches will get their money’s worth at Davosa.

The art of watchmaking as a hobby

The origins of Davosa date back to the 19th century. Abel Frédéric Hasler is a farmer and makes small batches of handcrafted silver watch bowls during the long winter months. It was a hobby that many farmers in the Jura mountains pursued to supplement their meagre incomes. The passion for the art of watchmaking was passed on to their descendants – six sons learned the trade, including Paul Hasler. In 1917, he founded the company “Terminages d’Horlogerie” and specialized in the assembly of watches for renowned manufacturers. He defied numerous crises and founded the company “Hasler Frères” together with his brother David in 1946. They began producing their own movements and watches and were particularly successful on the US market. The outstanding quality of the wristwatches opens up new markets in Europe.

The Davosa brand is created

From 1975, the company began producing QUARTZ watches alongside mechanical watches in order to adapt to the changing market. When demand for wristwatches with complications increased in the late 1980s, the company designed a small collection under the name “Davosa”, which was characterized primarily by chronographs and complications such as power reserve and regulators. A move that pays off. In 1998, Davosa is represented at the watch fair in Basel for the first time. Limited editions such as the “Panamericana” continue to fuel the brand’s success and make it a coveted collector’s item. Since 2003, the range has not only included men’s watches, but also a women’s collection, which is constantly being expanded.

Davosa Ternos Professional

The Davosa Ternos Professional model series has been a classic diver’s watch for many years and is characterized by its robust stainless steel case and durable ceramic bezel. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal of the Davosa Ternos Professional is also pressure-tested to a depth of 500 meters. Further highlights of the Davosa Ternos: it has an automatic helium valve. And you don’t have to make any compromises when it comes to design with a Ternos Professional. How about a Davosa Ternos Professional Nebulous with a 42 mm case and automatic movement, for example? Or would you prefer a Davosa Ternos Megalume with a rubber strap and SuperLumiNova® luminous color? If you are looking for a wristwatch with an all-black design, you should take a closer look at the Davosa Ternos Carbon in a limited edition (Ref. 161.539.50). For narrower ladies’ wrists, the Ternos is also available with a smaller case diameter. The manufacturer has also recently added the Ternos Professional Nebulous to the popular series, a modern interpretation of the classic in the form of a men’s automatic watch with a transparent dial made of colored sapphire crystal.

Davosa Argonautic

Named after the legendary fast ship “Argo” of the ancient hero Jason, the Davosa Argonautic is also one of the Maison’s bestsellers. With its robust and durable construction, the Argonautic is equally suitable for all divers, water sports and outdoor fans and is the hard-wearing companion for outdoor adventures. Choose the Argonautic 43, for example, an automatic watch with a 43 mm stainless steel case that can also be worn over a wetsuit thanks to a strap extension with a safety flap. The watch also has an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a 15-minute scale on the ceramic bezel, which provides orientation for emergency ascents. The Davosa Argonautic Coral, which is limited to 300 pieces, is also a special highlight. The proceeds from this men’s automatic watch will go to the NGO “Coral Guardian”, which specializes in the preservation and reconstruction of endangered underwater ecosystems. Also popular: the Davosa Argonautic Lumis, a men’s automatic watch with impressive luminous technology for perfect readability, even in deep waters.

Davosa Nautic Star

The Davosa Nautic Star with its screw-down crown and fully threaded screw back is also suitable for diving to a depth of approx. 100 meters. Watches in this series are equipped with a QUARTZ movement and are also available as a chronograph on request. The watch is characterized above all by its perfect readability under water and its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

Davosa for women

For Davosa, a ladies’ watch is not just a functional timepiece, but also an accessory that can be selected to match the clothing and the occasion and can be feminine or sporty. It is not without reason that the range includes a variety of ladies’ watches of all kinds in addition to men’s automatic watches. How about the Newton Lady Automatic or a Grande Diva with a skeletonized case, for example? Or would you prefer an elegant Audrey Quartz or a Vintage 60s? The timeless Classic Automatic is the perfect choice for those who prefer a classic look, while the Lunastar is inspired by the beauty of a starry night sky.

Other top models from Davosa

The Swiss manufacturer’s range also includes many other wristwatches, all of which have their own unique charm. The “Pilot” series, for example, stands for functional reduction, while you can look forward to a tribute to the pioneers of motorsport when you receive a Newton Pilot Rally Chronograph. The Speedometer Automatic, an automatic watch for adventurers and speed lovers inspired by the cockpit of legendary sports cars, is also popular with men. Anyone who travels the world and is looking for a watch that can also display a second time zone (GMT function) should take a closer look at the Ternos GMT, a self-winding watch specially developed for frequent travelers. Davosa has also dedicated an automatic watch to freediving: the Apnea Diver for men. This automatic watch helps freedivers to concentrate perfectly on vital breathing training thanks to the color codes shown.
