Whether Nomos Glashütte Tangente, Nomos Orion, the Ludwig collection or other model families: Nomos watches are appreciated worldwide. Are you interested in one of the popular Glashütte models and want to add a very special timepiece to your home collection? Then visit SG Watches to find out more about the history of the Maison and how you might soon be able to call a Nomos model your own.
History of the manufactory
The Saxon watch manufacturer Nomos Glashütte was founded in 1990 by Roland Schwertner, a photographer from Düsseldorf. While the company initially produced watches with Swiss movements, Nomos has been using its own movements in its collections since 2005. A step that has made the Maison completely independent of suppliers. Today, around 180 employees design and build the finely tuned calibers in the Osterzgebirge region – with precise, elaborate craftsmanship. However, Nomos Glashütte is not only known for its first-class watchmaking skills. The company also sets the bar high in terms of appearance and has been awarded prestigious prizes such as the iF Product Award and the Red Dot Award for good reason. Innovation and design in perfect harmony with traditional craftsmanship and the highest precision – that is what characterizes every Nomos watch.
Watches from Nomos Glashütte: The collections at a glance
Since its foundation, the well-known watch manufacturer has launched numerous models and collections onto the market. Precious materials such as stainless steel or gold, Tangente 38 Date, neomatik models and more: we give you an overview of the best-known model families.
Tangente: Timeless classic in Bauhaus style
Hardly any other watch is more closely associated with the Nomos Glashütte brand than the Nomos Glashütte Tangente. The Nomos Tangente captivates with its timeless, stylish and straightforward appearance, which inspires with its simple dial and the well-known number typography. Whether equipped with manual winding, automatic or neomatik movement, the movement of the next generation: Tangente is straightforward Bauhaus style in which form follows function – regardless of whether it is a Tangente 38 Date Pompadour, a Tangente 38 Date Dolphin, a Tangente 38 Date Bubblegum, a Tangente 38 Night Blue, a neomatik 39, a Tangente Sport or a Nomos Glashütte Tangente 33.
Metro: functionality and modernity in harmony
Whether in classic stainless steel or with a rose gold case, the Metro model family is characterized by its sleek appearance, which is due not least to the flat calibre that drives it, whether manually wound movements such as Alpha, DUW 4401, DUW 4101 or automatic movement DUW 3001, which is installed in the Metro neomatik models. At the heart of every caliber: the Nomos swing system, an in-house assortment. A real it-piece in the range: the reference 1101 with manual winding and power reserve as well as a large date display on the dial, which flatters both male and female wrists.
Club: Robust and sporty
Robust and sporty, the watches in the Club series are the ideal choice for any occasion – whether for sport or in the office. With hands featuring Superluminova, a stainless steel back with the option of engraving, durable sapphire crystal and optionally available with date or as a self-winding version: watches from the model family, such as the Club Campus, are reliable companions in all situations.
Other model families worth mentioning
The watch manufacturer Nomos has launched many other model families over the course of its history, including the Tangomat series, the larger update of the Nomos Tangente, the Ludwig series with its simple, classic look, and the Lambda series in real gold in rose or white gold. The Tetra series also deserves a mention, with its 175 Years Edition limited edition commemorating the special features and tradition of the company’s location.
